Bective got back on winning ways with this 2 point win over Moylagh in Bective on Sunday morning. A new look Bective line-out, playing against the stiff breeze, took a while to gel and Moylagh took advantage with a pointed free kick on 5 minutes. A Marty Mulhall point restored parity but soft jersey tug frees gifted Moylagh two more points and they added a point from play before Cathal Mc Connell pointed from play on 24 minutes. Dara Maguire replaced an injured Donagh Garvey and moved to his customary half back position. Both teams served up lively play and Bective spurned two goal opportunities but Moylagh finished the half strongly with 3 points from play.

Moylagh 0 – 7, Bective 0 – 2.

Bective, now playing with the wind, carried the ball well and Craig Roche topped off the move with a fine point after 1 minute. Mc Connell followed up with points from play on the 6th and 9th minutes. Mark Usher and veteran Colin O’Rourke came in and added fresh legs to the Bective defence. Both teams defended well and the small attendance had to wait until the 21 first minute for a fine point from Moylagh from play.  The decisive score came shortly afterwards when a high lobbing ball saw the hard working Jack Clarke rise the highest to fist the ball to the Moylagh net. Bective were determined not to let the lead slip but Moylagh continued to attack at pace but only achieved two wides and that probably cost them a share of the spoils. Mulhall sent over a late free kick to finish the game with Bective 1 – 7, Moylagh 0 – 8.
